In the year 2021, we are unable to
visit the world’s sacred places.
But we still can travel to them, experience their magic, hear their story, and learn from them.
Jeanne Fiorini and Margaret Jones present a series of virtual travel events, each one focusing on a particular pilgrimage site. The itinerary will send us to Petra in Jordan, Newgrange in Ireland, Saint Brigid's Well in Kildare (Ireland), the midlands of Scotland, and Stonehenge in Salisbury England.
These journeys will be presented as live guided tours, and will also be offered as recordings available for purchase after the presentation.
Petra and Scotland journeys are now available! (see right panel)
Each journey blends the mythology, history, and legends contained in the landscape with a series of images and guided prompts, all designed to transport travelers into another time and space.
As we wend our way across these mythical landscapes, we will create a personal travel log of our experience. We will use Tarot cards, personal reflection, short rituals, and journaling to deepen our understanding of these magical places and of ourselves.
No travel experience or knowledge of the Tarot is required.
Come along as we explore the inner and outer landscape!
Join us for a pilgrimage to the UNESCO World Heritage destination of Petra, Jordan.
As we travel to this mysterious and magnificent location, we will be awed by the size and scope of a civilization which has existed since the time
We will walk to the façade of the Treasury by means of the Siq,
an ancient road carved through the mountains. We will learn about the Nabateans and the remarkable engineering skills that created a thriving culture at the crossroads of the silk trade. While the interior of The Treasury, the city's most iconic structure, is closed to the public, we will walk the sacred pathway of the Siq and experience a city where the dead are as much a part of the citizenry as the living.
Join us for a journey to the land of the Scots, a place steeped in history and incredible beauty.
This journey begins at the ancient capital city of Edinburgh where we pay homage to the witches and healers who perished there in past centuries. Onward we go to Rosslyn Chapel (home of the Holy Grail?) and then along the western gateway toward the Isles of the Hebrides. On the coast at Oban we board a ferry to the sacred Isle of Iona.
Then we travel north to the Highlands, a sparsely populated area where the Goddess Cailleach rules the mountaintops. Our final destination, the Callanish Standing Stones, lies further northwest on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. It is here where we will honor the moon and conduct a ritual to remember our ancestors.
