In the year 2020, we are unable to visit the world’s sacred places. But we still can travel to them, experience their magic, hear their story, and learn from them.
Over the next several months, Jeanne Fiorini and Margaret Jones will be presenting
a series of Zoom workshops, each one focusing on a particular pilgrimage site.
The itinerary will send us to Petra in Jordan, Newgrange in Ireland, Glastonbury in Somerset England, Saint Brigid's Well in Kildare (Ireland), and Anglesey, Wales.
This December, near the time of the winter solstice, we will embark on the second leg of our five-part series, and will journey to the UNESCO World Heritage Site and pilgrimage destination of Newgrange. Newgrange sits in the Boyne Valley in central Ireland, a sacred place of myths and legends.
We will walk through the lush green valley along the river Boyne to meet the Celtic Goddess Danu, who is mother of the Tuatha De’ Danaan, the fairy folk who brought gifts from four magical cities. Our journey then takes us to Ireland’s most famous and spectacular megalithic passage tomb, Newgrange. A site which is indelibly linked with the winter solstice, we will gather in the mound’s central chamber to honor and celebrate the ancestors.
During this journey we will pause along the way for personal reflection, and by using the Tarot will receive guidance and clarity about our own inner journey. In this virtual landscape and with these ancient soul companions, we will create a personal travel log of our experience.
